Join us at Sage and Solace for a fun and creative time of charcoal drawing!

During this workshop, you will learn helpful drawing principles and techniques specific to using charcoal. Charcoal drawing provides artists with versatile mediums for expressing themselves artistically. Charcoal offers rich textures and deep contrasts, making it ideal for capturing bold strokes and dramatic shading effects. Whether you are an experienced artist or experimenting for the first time, we would love to have you join us. The subject matter is going to be our iconic Sebastapol geese. All supplies are included.

Your instructor, Anna Pederson, has reached a professional level of drawing and has found fun and innovative ways of using the medium of charcoal. She loves drawing with it because of the depth and form you can achieve when you apply it in different ways. She is the perfect guide to get you over your fear of starting and by the time you leave, you will have the skills to take your own subject matter and capture its essence.

Below are some examples of Anna's exemplary charcoal drawings including her self portrait in front of our gallery flower wall.

The workshop will take place in our gallery / studio.
