Meet Your Instructor:
Hello! I’m Melanie, or Mel as most call me. As a self-taught fiber artist, I bring whimsy to life through my needle-felted creations. My journey into needle felting began two years ago, inspired by the sight of an adorable felted pumpkin. Intrigued and eager to learn, I immersed myself in learning this fascinating art form, and it quickly became a passion.
Needle felting captivates me because of its forgiving nature and the magic of transforming a simple pile of wool into intricate sculptures by stabbing at it with a needle.
The process is not only enjoyable but also incredibly beneficial for my well-being. Being creative often requires focus and concentration, which helps me to stay present and mindful, like meditation. It has encouraged my curiosity and the exploration of new ideas and techniques, leading to continuous learning and growth. In addition, it is a huge stress reliever and provides me with such sense of accomplishment.
I love sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm for needle felting, helping others discover the joy and therapeutic benefits of this craft. Join me in exploring the colorful world of needle felting and creating magic one fiber at a time!
